Iron Mask Industrial Park (IMIP) is the result of decades of planning and preparation, guided by the expertise of people helping to shape its future. One of those voices is Blake Gozda, a Kamloops native who now works with Cushman & Wakefield to connect IMIP with businesses and investors from across Canada and beyond.
Growing up in Kamloops has given Gozda a strong appreciation for the city’s growth and the role industry plays in supporting it.
“Adding Iron Mask Industrial Park to Kamloops’ industrial land supply will unlock economic opportunity for businesses that are currently space-constrained,” shared Blake Gozda, Vice President at Cushman & Wakefield. “For many companies, the challenge has been the lack of available serviced land with immediate highway access. IMIP is designed to meet that need.”
In his role, he brings global reach to the project, ensuring that IMIP is positioned in front of some of the world’s largest businesses. This exposure helps attract international investment while also creating opportunities for local companies to expand and reshape their operations.
The response to IMIP so far has been strong, with inquiries coming from businesses and investors at every level. Blake shared that inquiries have come from a diverse mix of local, national, and international businesses and investors. These include companies in distribution, industrial services, construction, mining, utilities, and manufacturing, all sectors looking for modern sites close to the city core.
What excites Blake most is seeing the project move from concept to reality.
“It’s remarkable to see the project take shape and the volume of earthworks that has occurred. Watching the transformation has been very impressive,”
Gozda shares. With Phase 1A approaching, the park is moving closer to welcoming new businesses that will strengthen Kamloops’ economy for years to come.
